The Lao Rugby Federation supports the development of rugby at the youth, club, and elite levels in the Lao PDR. Throughout each of these levels, the LRF strives to ensure that values of perseverance, discipline, solidarity, friendship and respect are central to the delivery of rugby participation. In the Champa Ban youth programs the LRF introduces rugby in conjunction with health messages as part of a healthy living curriculum in schools, villages, and community centers in both Vientiane and Xieng Khouang Provinces. The LRF partners with the international NGO ChildFund Laos to run a unique sport for development program in one of the poorest districts of the country, building the capacity of local youth leaders and teachers in 12 villages to coach children in safe and healthy play. The LRF aims to provide opportunities for men and women of all ages from both urban and rural areas to participate in the sport of rugby union and supports health and capacity development developed through sport.
